Since 1896 Craven Cottage is their famous home ground. It is a riverside pitch on the banks of the River Thames in Fulham. However the club has used an impressive number of different stages in its history: Star Road (1879-1883), Eel Brook Common (1883-1884), Lillie Rec (1884-1885), Putney Lower Common (1885-1886), Ranelagh House (1886-1888), Barn Elms (1888-1889), Parsons Green (1889-1891), Half Moon (1891-1895), Cpt. James Field (1895-1896), Craven Cottage (1896-2002), Loftus Road (2002-2004, during the construction of Craven Cottage), then Craven Cottage (since 2004).
Al Fayed bought the Club in 1997 and put a managerial direction of Ray Wilkins and Kevin Keegan to bring back the club in Premier League within 5 years.
It took them 4 years and the help on new coach Frenchman Jean Tigana to the Premier League in the best style you could imagine scoring 90 goals in 46 games.
Their Premier League debut were as great as everybody expected despite a few good games. They ended up at the 13th place and remained the only team to host top-level football in a stadium with standing areas. It is the reason why they moved to Loftus Road during the 2002-03 season while their stadium was being rebuild.
That season was not a great season bringing the team near the relegation zone.
Al Fayed then told Tigana that his contract wouldn’t be renewed but bad results led him to be sacked before the end of the season.
In the summer 2003 Chris Coleman was given the position of manager and kept the club in the Premier League well clear from the relegations spots finishing 9th place. The following season Coleman did quite well with his team of Fulham finishing at the 13th place at the end of the season 2004-05.
The next season was even tougher but despite difficult moments Fulham achieved a good 12th place – better than the previous season.
Fulham fc colours are white and black for the home kits. The away colours are red and black for the shirt with white short.
